BIO
After almost 50 years practicing law, Terry still enjoys many aspects of the practice, his work over the years has been mostly involved with state and local tax matter, business and commercial transactions.  He has been fortunate to have been able to represent companies both large and small in his practice. Terry also worked as the Executive Vice President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana.  Retiring from Blue Cross in 2009, he returned to private law practice in an “Of Counsel” role, which is what he continues to do today. He has, for the most part, limited his practice to State and Local Tax matters, which have been a major part of his career.  He has been a contributor and a frequent lecturer at various conferences including the NYU State and Local Tax Conference, the Paul Hartment Tax Conference, Tax Executives Institute, and COST programs throughout the country. He has represented had a large number national and international companies and been able to negotiate settlements on all types of state tax issues, from income tax, property tax, mineral taxes, extraction taxes, and other miscellaneous taxes.  He has also represented clients both at the United States Supreme Court as well as the Montana District Courts and the Montana Supreme Court.
